Lux (turn off the lights)
Tim Hox & Roc Dubloc
Tech House
Tim Hox is back on Revealed Recordings again, this time with Israeli newcomer Roc Dubloc, as they seamlessly blend their unique styles to produce a euphoric, rave-centric banger in ‘Lux (Turn Off The Lights)’.
When it comes to versatility and a certain dynamic approach on EDM production, Tim Hox is one of main proprietors of a shapeshifting sound. His latest effort ‘Lux (Turn Off The Lights)’ is no exception, alongside promising Israeli selector Roc Dubloc, Hox was able to manufacture a soundscape reminiscent of something straight out of the early 90’s rave scene but with a modernised framework. This track commences at blistering pace, incorporating rave-esque synth with a bouncy groove of drums before Hox and Dubloc take their foot off the gas. The levels lower as the melody begins to grow back into the track, the build is up is intoxicatingly gradual, but the drop is well worth it. Pure, energetic rave euphoria!
Tim Hox started his journey in the music industry in 2019, as he began to synthesise a sound unique to himself, something he coined ‘Hox House’. The sound was new, exciting and most importantly, original, this led to him getting some minor recognition in local circles. Hox then dropped ‘The Hox Program’ and reintroduced himself to the EDM world. The project was received incredibly well and even caught the attention of names like Hardwell, Don Diablo and Oliver Heldens. From this point on, Hox has been steadily cementing himself in some of the most influential circles in the industry. With regular appearances on Revealed Recordings and even opening performances on Hardwell’s tour, the sky is the limit for Tim Hox.
Roc Dubloc is a name on everyone’s lips after a very solid year in 2022, the fast-rising Israeli DJ and producer made 2022 his own after a flurry of singles on some influential imprints. The most notable of these singles were ‘Forever’ on High Contrast and ‘One In A Million’ on Protocol, both of which entered Dubloc’s name in to certain relevant conversations within the scene. Starting off 2023 with the same energy, Dubloc collaborates with Tim Hox on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings. Let’s see where he can go from here!
