Spectrum
REGGIO & DJ Junior
Returning to Revealed Recordings after his joint effort ‘Afterlife’ with Syzz back in May, Reggio this time collaborates with DJ Junior on new single ‘Spectrum’, out 4th September. The track comes as the debut collaboration from the progressive pair, and DJ Junior’s second release on Hardwell’s big room accommodating label.
Rolling snare drums kick-start the single, while the rising, suppressed melody of the verse teases what is later reiterated and turned-up-to-ten in the chorus. The declaration “this shit’s fire”, at the precipice of the drop aptly outlines what proceeds: hard-hitting, overdriven bass drums, accompanied by the kind of raw, distorted synths popular with dance music fans across the globe. The shifting tides of the track then lead the listener on an acid-stabbed interval, before the dancefloor-ready hit returns to its big room, floor-filling conclusion – this journey, bearing a nod towards the nuanced bodies of work of these two skilled creatives.
With ‘Afterlife’ already clocking in at over 100,000 streams on Spotify and counting, while Junior’s last Revealed release ‘Trabanca’ with Maddix boasts upside of 700,000, ‘Spectrum’ looks to be a standout hit amongst fans of the label. Already successful in Asia for his hard-hitting sound popular amongst the Asian electronic community, this latest collaboration with South-American dark-progressive driving-force Reggio promises to make his presence known across the western world also.
Returning to Hardwell’s label in spectacular fashion, ‘Spectrum’ is set for release September 4th. Grab your copy of this month’s hottest collaboration via Revealed Recordings.
