The Seduction EP

As Hardwell revealed his long-awaited return to the live stage back in 2022, his ‘Rebels Never Die’ album bulldozed in a new chapter for one of the biggest names in electronic music. From a rip-roaring collection of tracks that showcased a deeper, edgier and more darker-leaning techno side to the artist, his recent mysterious, six door countdown that has further unveiled new releases including ‘Revolution’ with Maddix and Timmy Trumpet, and ‘Sloopkogel’ with Quintino.  Now, for his penultimate, fifth door release, he links up with Olly James for the two-track ‘The Seduction’ EP, landing where else but on the epic Revealed Recordings!

Hardwell has often given a platform to artists in the emerging dance music scene over the past decade-plus since Revealed Recording’s inception, with Olly James perfectly resonating with the initial vision of the imprint fresh for the new generation, as his music linked likeminded goals together. First track of the EP, ‘Flatline’, kicks things off with an interesting heart rate monitor inclusion to tick on into barraging synths that steam roll, an old-school-style vocal that echoes before screeching, textural alarm-like sounds push the rhythm to a central, concentrated point. Before long, harder drum kicks amp up the BPM’s for a techno-meets-electro royal rumble of a track.

‘Seduction’ is a similarly brazen cut from the celebrated duo, bring a weighted, slamming beat into the fore from the get-go, elastic synthlines shooting like a dart through the heated, dynamic production. Then, ripples of muted synths grow into an arpeggio before femme fatale-delivered vocals declare “give it to me”, unfolding as provocative as it does suggestive to get tongues wagging that, when paired with the high-octane pace, could only ever have been made to trip out the main stage in style.
